That governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, as declared in our Arizona Constitution when echoing the words of the Declaration of Independence, limits government to those powers which were granted by the consent of the people, and which are right and just.
As Arizona’s Attorney General, he will give force and effect to the principle that government is “established to protect and maintain individual rights” as ordained in Arizona’s Constitution, by employing the resources of that office for the protection of individual rights against abuse, regardless of the source of abuse.
When the first duty of government is the protection of individual rights, government furthers Peace, Prosperity, and Progress. When government persecutes individuals for violating victimless crimes, government abuses individual rights. No Victim, No Crime, No Time, No Fine.
